School No. 11 in Botosani is recognized for the quality of its educational activity, providing equal opportunities to all students regardless of age, gender, and race, cultural and religious background. There are 1070 pre-primary, primary and middle school students who come from the school district, and even from neighbouring towns. There are eight groups of preschool education, 21 classes on the primary level and 12 classes on the secondary level. The teaching staff consists of 63 teachers, one of whom has got a PhD in Science, 44 have achieved Didactic Degree I, nine have achieved Didactic Degree II, seven have got the definitive degree (on the job confirmation) and two debutant teachers. In total there are 13 pre-primary teachers, 21 primary teachers and 29 middle school teachers. The auxiliary staff consists of a chief secretary, a secretary, a librarian, an accountant, a lab assistant, a computer specialist and an administrator. There are 3 buildings, 32 classrooms properly equipped, Chemistry, Physics and Computer Science laboratories, a media library, a Resource Centre for English, and a Psychology and Pedagogy office. The school library has got over 12,000 volumes, and since 2010 there has been in use the new gym, equipped with changing rooms, toilets, room for materials and sports equipment, central heating and solar panels. Our school provides educational services not only for students who are able to achieve superior performance, but also for those who have difficulties in achieving the minimum standards. Currently, there are 40 students with special needs or who have different behavioural problems. In this respect, the school organizes a wide range of extracurricular and leisure time activities, aimed at developing the students’ team spirit, their competitive skills, building friendships and cooperation. School No. 11 has got experience in managing European projects, students and the teaching staff have been involved in European projects (Comenius projects and Erasmus+), eTwinning projects, 1 Aces project (with Macedonia) and has participated into international festivals (San Nicandro Garganico-Italy), SciFest (Environmental Online Program – Finland and Nyíregyháza – Hungary) and Scouts camps.Our school promotes and cultivates European principles and values: human dignity, equal opportunities, tolerance, the rule of law, respect for the cultural and linguistic diversity of Europe, peace and friendship, freedom and democracy.
