Kosta Trifković Elementary School educates 1355 students between 7 and 14 years of age. Of the 128 employees, 98 are teachers. For 55 years since its founding, the school has built an enviable reputation and is recognized as one of the leading schools in our region. The accomplishments of our students in numerous competitions and various subjects, along with final exams, demonstrate the successful educational and pedagogical work of our school.
Our school took part in the Razvionica Project (Support Human Capital Development and Research Project) and therefore, a large number of students from the teaching faculties of the University of Novi Sad do their training with the mentors from our school. We have been an active participant in the UNICEF School Without Violence program since its very launch.
The school is located close to the city center, which enables its direct cooperation with cultural and sports institutions, schools, faculties and other organizations. Our school’s involvement in a number of events makes it possible for our students to broaden their interests and advance their skills. Bearing in mind that we are a multiethnic society, our school promotes different cultures, traditions, cultural heritage. We strive to follow the European trends in education by cooperating with schools from other countries and by participating in international projects. We encourage continuous education of our teachers and promote innovations in teaching methods and extracurricular activities, acting in accordance with the school’s European Development plan.
The school, as a model institution, is currently part of a large national project on inclusion.
Our school is experienced in the implementation and coordination of E+ projects.
With the realization of our first E+ project “The internationalization through the interculturality” our students and teachers improved their intercultural skills and support values such as non-discrimination and tolerance.
Within the E+ project “Let`s Flip our Classroom” we improve the everyday teaching practice in our school by implementing that innovative teaching method and intensify the use of ICT. “Living Books in Schools” is E+ strategic partnership with the main goal to implement the non-formal method Living Library into formal education.
The project “Students Observers Learn Astronomy аnd Run to Travel to Space” aims to bring science closer to students through creative activities and problem solving, promoting European dialogue through cooperative relations between partners, strengthening the entrepreneurial spirit. By choosing a specific topic – astronomy, we connect the study of various sciences and subjects – mathematics, technique and technology, English, art, history, etc.
The aim of the project “Exploring cultures – food, health, challenges & alternative learning environments for a more sustainable lifestyle” is to create flexible learning pathways and adapt them to the needs of students, by exploring cultures and different learning environments in partner countries. All schools and participants in this project have the opportunity to observe teachers in another school, to learn and think about pedagogical teaching methods. All schools will contribute their knowledge in certain areas, which will influence the schools participating in the project in their future school development planning.
The Erasmus+ project The Curious and Flourishing Schools – Positive Education in Building of Character Strengths and Virtues is designed to improve the quality of formal education in primary schools in three countries – Serbia, Croatia and Slovenia through the implementation of a positive education program. The main goal of the project is to support teachers and professional associates and to enable the application of positive psychology for educational purposes.
The specific goal of the project is to improve the well-being of teachers and students through the development of personal strengths, empathy and better mutual relations.
The theme of our first accredited Erasmus+ project was inclusion, during which we placed a special emphasis on improving the integration of students who come from abroad into their new environment.
In our second accredited Erasmus+ project, we will focus on environmental protection.
