The Kocaeli Provincial Directorate of National Education (Kocaeli MEM) is the regional branch of the Turkish Ministry of National Education, responsible for managing and coordinating all educational activities across the Kocaeli region.
Serving a vibrant community of over 400,000 students and 30,000 teachers across 1,300 schools, Kocaeli MEM is a leading educational authority in Turkey’s industrial heartland.
The directorate is dedicated to fostering educational excellence, innovation, and inclusivity. It holds Erasmus+ Accreditations in School Education, Vocational Education and Training (VET), and Adult Education, managing over 300 mobilities annually for teachers and students.
Kocaeli MEM has a strong track record in European cooperation, having successfully implemented more than 30 Erasmus+ and EU projects since 2007. Through these projects, the directorate empowers teachers, enriches learning experiences, and builds international partnerships that strengthen the region’s educational ecosystem.
