TAHOMA’

The Tahomà social promotion association was born in 2016 from the meeting of people coming from different countries, training courses and experiences with a shared interest: to promote meeting and dialogue between the native and foreign realities that populate the Casentino Valley (AR). was founded to respond to one of the major needs expressed by the Casentino context in recent years: the reception and integration of the growing community of foreigners residing in the area. It has therefore promoted meeting initiatives that have also benefited the local community and the host area, thanks to the work of the multidisciplinary staff that makes up the Association; this variety, rather than constituting an obstacle, has proven to be one of the main drivers of the activities promoted, allowing the meeting of numerous points of view and skills. Thanks to the analysis of the Casentino context, in particular the phenomenon of immigration and reception methods, the association team has focused its activity on promoting encounters and dialogue between cultural and social differences.

Tahomà is active in the social promotion sector with initiatives that involve the local population of all age groups, together with communities from other countries. Among the activities carried out: projects to support the elderly population , Social garden, ; theatre workshops ; training in schools; Migrant project (reception, Italian language school, social and professional orientation), SAI MSNA (reception project for unaccompanied foreign minors funded by the Ministry of the Interior).
