Erasmus+ at KSU: Building Europe, Starting in Haselünne
Moin, Hei, Zdravo, Bonjour, Hello!
We are the Erasmus+ team of the Kreisgymnasium St. Ursula in Haselünne, Lower Saxony. Our school calls itself “traditionally modern”, and Erasmus+ is one of the ways we live that idea. Since the 2016/17 school year, we have been part of the Erasmus+ network, working with partner schools in Ristiina (Finland), Elburg (Netherlands), Saint-Flour and Langres (France) and Belgrade (Serbia).
What we do
- Grade 7: About 50 students swap letters and cards with pen pals in Sweden, Turkey, Spain, Italy and France through eTwinning. Real stamps, real post, real excitement.
- Grades 9 to 11: We travel to our partner schools and work together on shared projects.
- Grades 10 and 11: Our exchange with Belgrade brings students together for days of shared experiences.
- Teachers and staff: Our colleagues visit schools abroad and bring new ideas back home.
Why we do it
Europe cannot be learned from a textbook alone. It is learned at a host family’s kitchen table, in conversation with new friends, and while working on a common task. Once you have experienced that, borders and cultures look very different.
We are looking for new partners
We are planning a new international project and are looking for new partners.
If you enjoy project work, cultural exchange and a bit of adventure, we would love to hear from you.
