Gymnasium im Loekamp

Gymnasium im Loekamp (GiL) is a state-funded secondary school in Marl, located in the heart of the Ruhr area in western Germany. We offer a broad and diverse curriculum for students aged 10-18, with a strong academic profile and a particular focus on languages, the humanities, and STEM subjects.

As an Erasmus+ accredited school, we are actively engaged in European cooperation. Over the past years, we have carried out successful student exchanges, teacher mobilities, and eTwinning projects with schools in Greece, France, and Ireland.

We are particularly interested in developing partnerships that involve short- and long-term student mobilities, job shadowing for teachers, and collaborative projects in areas such as digital learning, remembrance culture, environmental education, and youth participation.

Our students are open-minded, motivated, and eager to engage with peers across Europe. We are able to host students in families, and we are experienced in organizing and coordinating both incoming and outgoing mobilities.
