We are a small secondary school situated in a rural area in the North of Martinique, a French island in the Caribbean. Most of our students have never traveled and it is difficult for them to see how foreign languages are important nowadays. Moreover they are not open-minded enough and lack ambition in their future studies.
We have applied, as part of a consortium, for an accreditation. We should get the answer of our application in February 2025 and thus know which grant we can have.
We are 9 school staff (teachers, Principal, CPE) in the project for instance. Some of our students will take part in the project too. In our project, we have three objectives:
1)Improve learners’ language skills and diversify the teaching of foreign languages through more twinning and immersion programs, for both students and staff.
2)Integrate sustainable development at all levels through interdisciplinary projects and actions involving all members of the school community to turn them (especially the pupils) into eco-citizen ambassadors.
3)Make openness to foreign cultures and practices a help to mobilize multi-disciplinary initiatives contributing to well-being, better living together and self-esteem.
So we are starting to look for a European partner school already involved at least in one of these three objectives, that would be ready to welcome us (for ex two teachers together with max 10 students) in late 2025 or 2026.

Organization strengths
We are a little organism, part of a consortium. So we are not alone to handle our KA1 project. In Morne Des Esses secondary school, the teachers are very close to the students, and they easily work together in many local projects to improve the pupils'school level and well-being.
