BBS Germersheim

We are a VET school called “Berufsbildende Schule Germersheim mit Außenstelle Wörth“ (BBS Germersheim). Our school has two locations, about 25 km apart from each other. The main site is in Germersheim, the other is in Wörth. Both cities are located in the south of the federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate near the French border. The city of Germersheim is renowned for its faculty of Translation Studies, Linguistics, and Cultural Studies – which is part of the university of Mainz (JGU). There are various international companies, such as Ardagh, a global supplier of metal and glass packaging for brand owners around the world, Nolte Möbel GmbH & Co. KG, a producer of furniture, and Mercedes Benz Global Logistics Center, headquarters of the global Mercedes-Benz after-sales supply chain and logistics network (>500.000 parts).

Wörth is a small city located near Karlsruhe, which well-known for the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), and the Federal Constitutional Court.

From all the different forms of vocational education and training courses we offer the vocational school is our main business. The German dual vocational training system is unique in the world. It combines theoretical as well as practical elements, the programmes usually last between two and three and a half years. The learners acquire theoretical knowledge one or two days a week, or several weeks at once. At the company they get on-the-job training and work experience. By the time they have completed their training, they will not only have the required technical knowledge, but you will also have hands-on experience in their job. There are around 325 officially recognised training programmes in Germany.

According to our motto “One school – many opportunities” we offer around 100 courses (full-time and part-time) to more than 1800 learners of different ages starting from 16 years. We have more than 100 teaching staff. The fields of vocational education:
